Imac 2015 Ssd Thermal Sensor

If you are upgrading the main bay in any imac late 2009 current besides the 21 5 2013 2013 imac you will need the owc thermal sensor cable.

I did not fit any thermal sensor and it works perfectly no fan spin or any other problems. I have fitted a 1tb wd blue ssd to my late 2015 imac 27 it had no hard drive before just the pcie ssd. I would have had to use the sensor anyway as the new drive is mechanical but if you ve purchased an ssd prior to 2015 that you wish to swap in use the temp sensor. I think that owc thermal cable for imac 2013 and later is a scam.

I also replaced the pcie ssd with a samsung nvme 1tb unit with an adapter this also works perfectly.
